Job Description
Job Summary:

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for tasks that ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and cost-effective operations, performed in alignment with the organization's vision and values.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Operations
  • Resolve vendor statements promptly to avoid past-due fees.
  • Maintain the A/P vendor master file.
  • Ensure W-9 forms are on file before processing vendor payments.
  • Separate invoices, determine due dates and discounts and file appropriately.
  • Match invoices with packing slips and enter them into the hospital's information system.
  • Review printed checks for accuracy (amount, vendor, etc.), prepare copies, and submit for signature.
  • Generate hand checks upon request by authorized personnel.
  • Keep all A/P filing current and organized.

Financial Processes and Auditing
  • Assist in completing interim and year-end audit tests promptly.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and provide change for the cafeteria and gift shop as needed.

Customer and Vendor Relations
  • Handle inquiries and interactions with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring positive relationships with patients, vendors, visitors, and staff.
  • Actively participate in actions promoting good public relations within and across departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and financial information.

Team Collaboration and Conduct
  • Foster cooperation with other departments and allied professionals.
  • Demonstrate respect, adaptability, and willingness to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Act as a hospital representative, upholding the organization's Code of Conduct and professional dress code.
  • Participate in and implement team decisions constructively.

Safety and Compliance
  • Follow safety practices, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Comply with regulatory agency requirements and hospital policies.
  • Keep informed of current role-related information and maintain attendance in line with hospital policies.

Competency and Performance
  • Produce a significant volume of work efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Maintain required competencies and complete necessary training.
  • Accurately complete tasks in a timely, thorough, and organized manner.

Experience:
  • Medical or hospital experience preferred.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

Software Skills:
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in the use of:
  • Office equipment (e.g., 10-key calculators, copiers, facsimiles, telephones, computers).
  • Filing systems and file cabinets.

Salary Range: $23.74 - $29.48 per hour
