Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Analyze and process information to ensure accurate, timely and efficient payments to vendors.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1.Monitor the Accounts Payable email box.
2.Reconcile external vendor statements and internal unmatched inventory report.
3.Communicate discrepancies and resolutions to vendors and internal parties.
4.Enter accounts payable vendor invoices.
5.Process or assist with weekly payment runs, ensuring that bank transactions are accurate.
6.Assist in monthly general ledger closings, specifically by ensuring that Cash and Accounts Payable are reconciled.
7.Maintain vendor files and compliance with laws and regulations.
8.Identify and assist with implementing process improvements.
PERIODIC OR SECONDARY POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1.Provide backup assistance to other accounting functions as necessary.
2.Maintain a working knowledge of financial statements and reports.
3.Assist with audits as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES:
1.Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially in using Excel spreadsheets.
2.Ability to maintain 100% confidentiality; including, but not limited to the sharing or release of information within the finance department and/or any co-worker who doesn't have clearance.
3.Excellent written and verbal communication.
4.Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1.Associate Degree in Accounting or closely related field.
2.1-2 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or closely related field.
3.Experience with various ERP systems.
