Job Description
Job Title/Position:
Accounts Payable Specialist
Reports to:
Director of Finance
Position Summary:
Responsible for managing the transaction accounting and asset accounting functions of the organization including general ledger management, accounts payable management, payroll management, and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties:
Prepares monthly statistical reports and corresponding journal entries to record in accounting system
Prepares revenue reports and corresponding journal entries to record in accounting system.
Prompt data entry for all employee information into payroll system.
Prepares daily entries for the cash deposits and coordinates with billing on accounts receivable payments.
Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts and prepares adjusting entries at month end.
Maintains the fixed asset register, balances the CIP account, and creates the asset and depreciation entries.
Communication:
Analyzes room and board revenue and prepares accrual entry as well as preparing weekly billing report and reviewing detail with supervisor and billing director.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. Minimum three years' experience in health care accounting management preferably in-home care operations.
3. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel, MS Outlook and similar programs.
5. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment while demonstrating good communications and public relations skills.

2. Skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
3. Skill in reconciling system documents to source documents.
4. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
5. Ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions.
