Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: Proof of high school graduation or GED equivalent. Experience working with children preferred. Ability to speak, read and understand the assigned language. Flexible and able to adjust your daily routine. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude. Physically able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Must have one of the following: a. 48 hours of college credits, OR b. Associates or higher degree, OR c. Competency on the CFISD proficiency test (score of 70 or above). REQUIREMENTS: If you meet the college requirements above (7a or 7b), please upload your transcript(s) at the time of application. TESTING FORM LINK TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 Days SALARY/PAY GRADE: $20,942/IP 2 as approved by the Board of Trustees ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Translate student and parent communications for the classroom teacher in assigned language. Assist students to communicate with campus staff. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. Translate words, ideas and concepts between languages for teachers, students and parents. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom. Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment, books and supplies. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function. WORKING CONDITIONS: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; other specialized and adaptive equipment used by students Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Frequent walking and reaching Lifting: May require regular heavy lifting (45 pounds or more) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, control behavior through physical restraint, assist non ambulatory students, and lift and move adaptive and other classroom equipment; may work prolonged or irregular hours Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), exposure to noise, exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases) Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress APPLICATION INFORMATION: Applications will be reviewed.
