Job Description

As the Bilingual Law Firm Billing Specialist with this international law firm, you will join an outstanding team of talented and committed individuals in the billing, accounting and finance departments. This is a great position for a person who loves math, has experience billing in a legal setting, but also wants to interact with clients and attorneys and speaks Spanish fluently. A large component of your job will involve invoicing and billing, pulling data and notes from various forms to create a clear picture of the billing statement for each client and acting as a liaison for client and attorney billing-related inquiries and follow-through. A detail-oriented, deadline driven individual will do exceptionally well in this role.

About the Job:
  • Under the supervision of the department head, you will work closely with attorneys to discuss the scheduling of payments, invoice preparation, and specific client billing procedures.
  • Ensure proper follow-up with clients to guarantee a timely and smooth billing process, using a high-level of professionalism and customer service via email and phone communication.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing accurate accounts and financial records for clients; ensure compliance across client portfolios.
  • Review and electronically file forms with different software applications.
  • Keep up-to-date client portfolios while monitoring billing schedules.
  • Assist with special projects across the team, including using data analysis, research and running accounts receivables reports.
About the Culture:
  • This law firm offers paid overtime.
  • Opportunity for growth and continuous training opportunities available.
  • They love to spoil their employees with appreciation events.
  • A beautiful downtown DC office with all of the amenities including a rooftop for entertaining.
  • Hybrid work model; two days in-office.
About You:
  • Degreed. A Bachelor's degree ideally in business, accounting or finance alongside at least three years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm.
  • Bilingual. You are fluent in English and Spanish, and you can use your advanced communication skills in a business setting.
  • Scrupulous. You have a natural ability for noting inconsistencies or pinpointing errors in documents, especially with numbers.
  • Mathematically-inclined. You are drawn to work that allows you to work with numbers or finances.
  • Articulate. It's essential that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible. You are committed to the success of the firm and will work extra hours to complete your deadlines on time.
