At the current time, a vacancy exists for a Bilingual Certified School Psychologist working within the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position will support district partners with short and/or long-term vacancies and will service current and anticipated needs throughout Chester County and surrounding area. This is an extended year position to include days worked over the summer.

Qualifications:
  • PDE Educational Specialist Certifcation as a School Psychologist, required
  • Master's degree, required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, required
  • Current police and child abuse and FBI Fingerprints required
  • Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)

Summary of Position:

The School Psychologist provides a full range of school psychological services to children ages 0-21, including assessment and intervention planning, consultation and counseling, program development and systems support. The School Psychologist also functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to determine the student's eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and on-going evaluation and systems support, working directly with students, faculty, parents, administration, and the community at large. The School Psychologist delivers services and implements all procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and school policies and procedures and utilizes practices that are evidence based or scientifically validated.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Plans and conducts school based psychological evaluations using a variety of tools and methods for specific referral questions; including but not limited to formal and informal methods, FBA, RTI, writing reports, developing recommendations, providing resources, and providing feedback to parents and consultation to school staff.
  2. Participates as a member of student-centered teams such as intervention planning, Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning, evaluation of interventions, pre-referral processes, FBA, Manifestation Determinations, etc.
  3. Maintains a variety of tests and other equipment needed to conduct evaluations for referral reasons including ordering protocols, recommending the purchase of revised or new tests/tools, and maintaining security of all materials.
  4. Consults with teachers and administrators regarding evidence based/scientifically validated interventions, intervention progress monitoring, special education eligibility, mental health disorders, program evaluation, and other psychological services.
  5. Counsels students and provides skills training individually and in groups using scientifically validated approaches.
  6. Provides crisis intervention and serves on student assistance/emergency response teams as requested.
  7. Maintains up to date, best practice professional skills through reading current literature, attending required trainings, actively participating in professional development.
  8. Completes all records, reports and assignments promptly, accurately, and efficiently.
  9. Maintains a prof?essional demeanor and appearance that adheres to organizational expectations and facilitates positive relationships with others.
  10. Performs all duties in accordance with regulations, policies, locally adopted procedures, and ethical codes of conduct.
  11. Participates on CCIU, school, and school district committees.
  12. Provides training and resources on a wide variety of psychological topics including child, family, parent, and educational issues.
  13. Advance school psychology as a field through research, participation in professional organizations, and supervision of school psychology interns upon agreement with the Supervisor of Clinical and Assessment Services.
  14. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor of Assessment and Clinical Services.

Salary ( School Year):
  • $67,145 - $108,106 - Master's Degree
  • $70,061 - $112,362 - Master's + 15
  • $71,587 - $114,399 - Masters + 30
  • +$1,500 Bonus for Earned Doctorate

Schedule:

213 days per year for new professional employees/210 days for professional staff in year two/209 days in all subsequent years. 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day.
