Opened in September 2002 offering grades K-3, New Beginnings Family Academy ("NBFA") offers active and engaging learning experiences from Pre-K through 6th grade. NBFA is a tuition-free, public charter school proudly distinguished by:

Summary:
The NBFA teacher must be committed to and advocate for NBFA's mission to provide its students a meaningful, high-quality education through experience-based learning that helps develop essential social, emotional and critical-thinking skills. This gives all children a foundation to achieve their full potential at every stage of life. The Teacher is responsible for delivering challenging and engaging instruction in the content area(s) consistent with his/her certification as well as fostering and maintaining open lines of communication with students and families. The Teacher must comply with state and federal educational laws and regulations at all times.

Principal Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English and in the students' native language. Instruction shall be closely related to and coordinated with the regular instruction program.
Plan, organize, and provide instruction in verbal and written skills of the native language
Establish and maintain strength-based relationships to ensure behavioral standards while fostering student self-discipline and positive peer relationships
Engage in on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy
Plan learning activities to address individual differences among students.
Develop, administer, and evaluate quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills
Monitor and evaluate students' progress in relation to district/school curriculum policies and other planned goals and objectives
Secure and maintain strong parent involvement to support academic growth and development
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Certification, Knowledge and Skills: The Teacher must:
Maintain the required certification (902)
Aspire to master his/her content area or subject matter and be willing and able to receive constructive criticism to achieve that goal
Have Excellent oral, written communication and human relations skills
Be willing and able to offer constructive feedback to assist colleagues
Have experience in the use of educational technology
Understand that all work responsibilities are subject to performance goals and/or targets established as part of the Board's and school's organizational planning
Fervently believe in NBFA's mission and be willing to work diligently to positively impact the life outcomes of our students
Candidates fluent in oral and written Spanish, French Creole or Portuguese encouraged to apply
