About Telemundo Broadcasting Operations (TBO): About Gray Telemundo Spanish Language News Bureau, Centrally located in Atlanta, Gray's Spanish language News Bureau is the hub for producing news for various Gray Telemundo markets throughout the US. This position will be working alongside Telemundo Atlanta and the Southeastern States. Telemundo Atlanta is a premier Spanish-language television station providing award-winning local news and programming. Telemundo Atlanta is available to the Atlanta DMA on a million-watt full power over-the-air signal on channel 47.1. Telemundo Atlanta has received 61 Emmy Awards since 2012, including the top honor of Station Excellence in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2022, and 2023 and News Excellence in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. Telemundo Atlanta was nominated for Best Newscast and News Excellence in 2020. Telemundo Atlanta is the first Spanish-language television station to receive the coveted Overall Station Excellence recognition in Georgia. Job Summary/Description: Gray TV's Telemundo News Bureau located in Atlanta is looking for a Bilingual Weather and News Producer/Anchor to join their award-winning news team. The ideal candidate will be dynamic on and off-air and possess an innate desire to inform and empower the community in various markets across the Southeast. Candidates must be able to write, produce, and present news for a variety of newscasts in different markets and digital platforms. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Write and produce newscasts for various Gray Telemundo markets and digital platforms Anchor as needed, write scripts, create elements, and dictate story placement/flow for newscasts and digital platforms Produce quality weather and news segments in native journalistic Spanish Gather, edit, write, and present story content in an accurate and unbiased manner Coverage, Translation, Production, and Editing of local news packages for all station mediums Collaborate with News Director, Reporters, Editors, and Producers for daily newscasts and specials Use social media channels to build a following/audience Write and Speak Native Spanish fluently Work well under pressure and deadlines. Develop trust and contacts within the community across designated markets Possess integrity and credibility as a journalist Pitch stories and investigative stories Write/Upload stories for online and digital media Produce Specials with the news team as needed (i.e. HB 87 Special, Election, etc.) Occasionally attend and represent Telemundo at Hispanic events on behalf of stations as needed in other markets Occasionally attend/Participate in station-sponsored events and all assigned special promotions Ability to go live in a field with Dejero/ LiveU is a plus Shooting and editing experience as a one-man band, MMJ is a plus Qualifications/Requirements: B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or equivalent experience Experience in news-producing software (ENPS desirable) Experience in editing software (i.e. Edius. Premiere Pro, CS, Final Cut) Must be willing to work in the newsroom in Atlanta, GA Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and insurance Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background investigation Must have legal authorization to work in the United States Must be 18 years or older Strong English-to-Spanish translation experience needed Spanish language (native level) Proficient in English, both written and verbal 2+ Years Experience producing newscasts Good attitude and team player Excellent oral and written communication skills Attention to detail Some travel may be required to Southeast markets for events, meetings, and news coverage.
