Title: Billing Services/Accounts Receivable Representative

Department/Location: Finance/Accounting, St. Louis, MO

Position Type: Full-time, 12-month

Organizational Relationship: Reports to Accounting Manager

Summary

Principia is looking for a Billing Services/AR Representative. In this role, you will prepare accounts receivable/billing information, administration of PrinBill billing system, and develop relationships with parents and students to support timely collection of payments through phone calls, emails and in person.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides accurate, timely, and meaningful billing information to parents, students and staff, answers questions regarding PrinBill accounts, and works closely with students and parents to discuss financial obligations; and helps organize payment plans
  • Collections - Monthly aging report and communication with past due account holders
  • Communicates closely with Admissions, Financial Aid re: account holds & fee assessments
  • Schedules and prepares documentation for Financial Standing meetings
  • Communicates with employees and Prin Clubs regarding PrinBill accounts
  • Monitors PrinBill activity, including payment plans, authorized user activity
  • Provides PrinBill customer support

  • Proof, Feed and Log payments on accounts as needed
  • Creates, processes and reconciles accounts receivable batches; posts charges to accounts; and maintains monthly batch logs and associated journal entries
  • Maintains electronic transmission of PrinBill ACH and credit card payment records, including preparation of ACH payments (electronic transfers); creates and posts batches
  • Prepares annual PrinBill communication, setting up authorized users and payment plans
  • Performs month-end closing activities including monthly billing, queries, and reports
  • Performs other accounts receivable duties as necessary
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality in matters relating to student accounts

Minimum Qualifications
  • Student of Christian Science
  • Supportive of Principia's mission, vision, and values as articulated here

  • Ability to work in a principled and loving way with people who may be struggling to meet their financial obligations to Principia
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience with bookkeeping and accounting techniques, procedures, and methods
  • Ability to perform computations rapidly and accurately
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Internet, and other computer applications
