Center Store Customer Service (part-time - afternoon/evenings) Burnsville, MN (+County+Road+Burnsville+MN+USA) Job Type Part-time Description Valley Natural Foods is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as apart-timeCenter Store Customer Service employee. If you are passionate about delivering top-notch customer service, love working in a fast-paced environment, and have a keen eye for organization, we want to hear from you! Qualified applicants will enjoy interacting with the public andbe available Monday-Sunday for afternoon to close shifts. Applicants must also be able to lift 30-50# regularly. Stocking, Special Orders and Customer Service + Stock displays fully without overcrowding; face items on shelves + Rotate older stock to front making space for new stock and rotate overstock into storage + Pull short-date or low-quality items, notify buyer, and place in write off box + Label unscanned items accurately with price tags or signs + Keep backstock areas in order. Notify buyer of out-of-stocks + Check deliveries to verify piece count, notify buyer of discrepancies + Check for damage and unacceptable quality, notify buyer of problems and give to receiving for credit + Help with unloading as needed and assist customers with special orders + Participate in demos as necessary while ensuring food handling practices follow health department guidelines + Identifies self as employee by being in VNF attire and name tag Business Operations, Safety and Compliance + Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies + Participate in inventories and place orders, if so assigned, to ensure uninterrupted supply + Keep registers - shelves, counters, aisles, backstock in clean, orderly condition + Remove trash promptly, clean up spills, sweep floor as needed + Ensure grocery carts are collected from the corral regularly + Keep department equipment in working order and advise Center Store Manager of equipment problems + Attend Center Store staff meetings and other assigned training requirements + Perform any other duty as assigned by Management Team Requirements Mandatory Qualifications: + Excellent time management and communication skills + English proficiency + Able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business + Regular, predictable attendance Preferred Qualifications: + Familiarity with MS Office and POS systems + Previous customer service experience + Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives Physical Demands: + Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently; 30-50+ pounds occasionally + Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and utilize hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time + General range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment for extended periods of time + Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time + Regular exposure to working in refrigerated and frozen environments + Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required Reports To:Center Store Manager Department, Status and Salary:Grocery, Part Time, Hourly (At-Will) Valley Natural Foods Core Competencies + Adaptability/Flexibility/Dependability + Communication/Listening Skills + Customer Service/Customer Focus + Integrity/Ethics + Sense of Urgency/Productivity + Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills + Work Environment/Safety/Job Knowledge Position Specific Competencies + Product Knowledge The information above is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performance by people assigned to this work.
