Clerk Customer Service Specialist
Location: 315 Court Street, Clearwater, FL 33756
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Occasionally, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Are you a customer service superstar?
This is a Clerk Customer Service Specialist position within the Recording Services Department of the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller's Office. Clerk Customer Service Specialists assist the general public, record all recordable documents into the Official Records of Pinellas County, and cashier transactions while performing an assortment of duties and work processes based on the specific area of assignment. Clerk Customer Service Specialists also issue Marriage Licenses, Perform Marriage Ceremonies, and Serve as an Official Passport Application Acceptance Agent for the U.S. Department of State. Staff in these positions will have heavy daily customer contact with the general public. The area of assignment can include any department under the Clerk of the Circuit Court. Clerk Customer Service Specialists exercise a high degree of independent judgment based on experience and knowledge of department operations. Deviations from standard policies and procedures are referred to a higher level for decision.
What Would You Do?
Perform cashiering duties by entering transactions into a case management system, processing cash, credit card, checks or escrow accounts and end daily reconciliation of monies, financial data and closing reports and records.
Provide information and services to the general public and respond to inquiries concerning recordable documents into the official records, issuing marriage licenses and the execution of passport applications as a passport agent.
Duties may include, but are not limited to identifying recordable documents authorized under the Florida Statute, scanning of documents, certify and notarize documents.
Prepares reports, performs special projects or assigned work as required.
What Do You Need To Have?
2 years' experience in cashiering or accounting and practical skills in the use of computer equipment; or
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
Must take and pass the US Department of State passport certification training and become a Florida notary.
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Highly Desirable
Strong listening, communication, multi-tasking and should excel at problem-solving.
Skilled in the application of excellent customer service satisfaction.
Willingness to work in a team members environment.
