Job Description

Avanta Dental is searching for a skilled Dental Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Dental Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient accounts and ensuring timely payment collection within a dental practice.
The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position requires mastery of a large amount of detail and excellent time management skills. This person will be a full-time, goal oriented "will do" positive attitude with a 5 star approach to customer service, highly accurate and motivated. We are looking for a team member who is up for a challenge and is willing to invest the time it takes to gain a complete understanding.
Preferred
At least 2-3 years of experience in dental billing, accounts receivable, or related roles.
Strong understanding of dental insurance and payments.
Strong understanding of payments and benefits (EOPs and EOBs), including hidden splits, payment allocation, and resolving discrepancies.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to de-escalate situations.
Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of insurance claim management and denial management.
Familiarity with state-specific insurance regulations and common billing codes in dentistry.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required.
