Under the direction of the Manager of Developmental Education, the English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor will conduct various levels of ESL courses by means of group lectures / discussions either in classroom setting in accordance with established course outcomes and curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching ESL and a commitment to helping students improve their language skills in a supportive and engaging environment. This part-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to our diverse and vibrant academic community.
Develop and deliver engaging ESL lesson plans that address various language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student participation and confidence.
Assess and evaluate student progress through regular quizzes, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
Administer pre- and post-tests to assess student levels and improvement in the dominion of the English language.
Maintain daily attendance rosters and other required documentation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must possess an in-depth knowledge of ESL programs, curriculum, instructional best practices, and adult learning theories.Skill in making presentations to groups of students.
Skills in using all available resources to further educate students.
Ability to plan and prioritize work.
