Job Description
Position Overview:
The Health and Inspection Specialist will play a pivotal role in overseeing and ensuring compliance with
health and safety regulations across our West Coast locations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional
with extensive experience in the health inspection field, preferably someone who has served as an inspector
with a California health county and is now retired or looking for a full-time or consulting opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive food safety and health compliance programs across all West Coast H Mart locations.
Oversee and conduct regular, high-level health and safety inspections, ensuring all stores meet or exceed local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
Direct the certification process for food managers and handlers, ensuring all certifications are current and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Partner with regional and store management teams to proactively identify, address, and resolve health and safety issues, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Maintain full compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable health, safety, and food safety authorities, ensuring all locations are audit-ready at all times.
Monitor and stay ahead of evolving health, safety, and food safety regulations; update policies, procedures, and training programs to align with industry best practices.
Lead the design and delivery of advanced training programs for store managers and employees on health, safety, and food compliance protocols, cultivating a proactive and knowledgeable workforce.
Serve as the primary liaison between the corporate compliance team, regional leadership, and external regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
At least 5-10 years of extensive experience in health inspection, with a strong understanding of California health regulations.
Previous experience working with a California health county as an inspector.
Certification in food management and food handling, or the ability to certify others.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with team and make informed decisions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Travel required
Pay range:
$80k-110k per year
