Job Summary Job Summary The position is 45 minutes per day, Monday - Friday. This position may be combined with the open Instructional Assistant and Office Aide positions at Old Mill Elementary School. QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient: Competent with computers, including email, internet, spreadsheets, and other database programs. Knowledge of: Bookkeeping, State food handling techniques, State and Federal school guidelines, First aid. Ability to: Track data input and financial information Manage spreadsheets and order payments Relate well to a variety of individuals, including students, parent volunteers, staff and the community Maintain a professional demeanor at all times Understand and carry out oral and written instructions Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, maintaining confidentiality of specified information TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent, supplemented by training in the restaurant, catering, or food handling business, preferably in a school setting. Valid Certified Professional Food Manger Certificate Required within 60 days of hire (Can be obtained after hire; District will reimburse for cost of the training) Experience working with computers including word processing, spreadsheets, and navigating the Internet as well as basic financial skills including: budgeting, inventory control, fiscal responsibilities or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license Valid Certified Food Handler Certificate (or obtain within 120 days of employment). (The district will reimburse for the cost of training and certificate) Comments and Other Information The Mill Valley Elementary School District is a K-8 public school district located in Southern Marin County, California, serving Mill Valley and the immediate surrounding area. The District includes five K-5 elementary schools and one 6-8 middle school. All schools are ranked at the highest statewide levels, each with a unique community.
