Job Description
Parallel Employment Group in partnership with a Cheektowaga food manufacutirng company is seeking a qualified Industrial Maintenance Technician. Qualified individual will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all equipment and systems in a bakery manufacturing plant. This role ensures optimal performance and safety of machinery, minimizing downtime, and supporting production by maintaining high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, adhering to food safety and sanitation requirements, and working as part of a team to enhance overall plant efficiency.
Responsibilities
Quickly troubleshoot and repair bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, packaging lines, and other production machinery.
Diagnose issues with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to restore equipment to operational status promptly.
Work with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems to identify and resolve faults, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Conduct scheduled maintenance activities to prevent unexpected breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
Utilize diagnostic tools to predict potential equipment failures and address them proactively to maintain production flow.
Equipment Optimization & Efficiency
Analyze equipment performance and recommend adjustments or modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
Work with production to fine-tune settings on machinery for optimal output and minimal product waste.
Implement solutions to recurring issues and mechanical inefficiencies by adjusting, modifying, or replacing parts or systems.
Installation & Upgrades
Assist in installing new equipment or upgrading existing systems to increase production capabilities or quality.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams on the commissioning of new technology and machinery, ensuring compatibility with current systems.
Qualifications
Education
: High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred, but not required
Experience
: Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within food production.
Technical Skills
:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, motor controls, and other control systems is a plus.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Certifications
: OSHA certification, welding certification, or refrigeration certification preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in hot and cold environments, and stand or walk for extended periods.
